It seems like a good job, though. Hey, Did you do your MFA, Bob? What are your thoughts on that degree generally? Jason and I go back and forth about it a lot. I change my mind about (someday) getting one monthly.
i guess that makes me in the minority. but, it's such a practical thing to have! i mean when i think of all opportunities that are open to me now as an artist with a highly specialized education in a profession that is bearly recognized as one (at least in the states).
i guess i could just become a graphic designer or a coolhunter. Participating in such social control experiments as advertising, sitcom melodrama, and dare i say it, online gaming!
sadly he's right. but it's not with the grad students that artistts usually "whore themselves out" to , it's to galleries, institutions, or corporations that will show our work (and maybe even sell some!)
which is why I like the artist Co-Op idea and think it would be interesting to see that model work more often. Pete do you know about the one near you called Vox Populi? http://www.voxpopuligallery.org/

ATTABOY! I have similar thoughts when it comes to a master's degree.

It's all the same when you look at it. You're selling yourself or your product. Personally, I’d rather do neither.
Advertising's not MUCH different than whoring yourself out hobnobbing with grad students during a Friday night gallery opening.
chad laying the smack down..boom.

I used to work for Jim,Steve, Carl and Chris back in the 80s. Glad to find they're still around. Is Steve doing those massive metal sculptures now?
