we also couldn't get Teamspeak to work, nor could Pete use Skype. Overall, lots of time sitting in front of the computer saying "WTF?! Why isn't this shit working?"
The main problem was that I recently switched from cable to DSL, and my DSL modem has its own firewall; On top of the one on my router, and they don't play nice. I'm usually the host for these informal gaming sessions, so it was kind of humiliating that I couldn't run anything. Next time, I'll make damned sure everything is ready to go ahead of time.
