So BioWare is having a writing contest. If you're one of the top three entries, you'll have a shot at a job interview with them. The contest deadline is 1/30/06. Have at thee!
Allow me to pontificate because I've "had a few"... Bioware's insistence on using dialogue trees to move their games forward is dumb. RPGs work best as tools with which the players can tell their own stories, not as vehicles for telling stories to the players. Dialogue boxes become something you have to get through to get to the game.
So Pete, what sorts of tools would you like to be put in a game such as NWN to facilitate players "telling their own stories"? What about in "Video Game" RPGs in general?

*scratches head* That's a mighty complicated answer. Can I get back to you on this one?
Yes, but I'd like to hear what you think about this one some day.
