Thanks, Bob! I've been building it over many months, like a huge wad of tin-foil.

Ryan, a family member reset my router. So at game time I was scrambling to reconfigure it. I was able to get the game and teamspeak up, but I lost web, chat and e-mail capacities, so I was cut-off. :(
I seriously considered having a session this week as well, but I truly need to play catch-up with the many buildings I am working on. Hopefully you can make it the weekend after next.

I'll write a bit later about the new build. Let me say that "Raise Dead" scrolls have been bumped-up to the top of the to-do list.

"Raise Dead" scrolls . . . that could be nice touch and simple solution. Chuck the Mortician lost 12,000 experience points (2 1/2 levels) last session due to being trapped in the valley of multiple head wounds. I was thinking about a name change for the module. What do you think of "UPKEEP: The Gathering"?
Without the sarcasm, I am enjoying the game a lot but the focus on character "maintenance" as a solution to game balance and a power cap are getting in the way of the fun of adventuring and the addictive quality tinkering with character advancement gives to these types of games. Focusing specifically on polishing the death system, material components and sacrifices for spellcasters, and more civilized destinations on the map I think would go a lot longer way towards ULTIMATE FUN(tm) right now than new AI's, monsters, and dungeons.
The ball of virtual tin foil is big and beautiful but it has a few pokey edges that could stand to be rounded out.
Captain my Captain! How may we assist you while you are bogged down in all that icky reality stuff?

I think he should rename the module "Let's Get Mugged!:Fantasy Edition".

Then we can make "Let's Get Mugged! Pro" for NWN2 ;-)

Just playing devil's advocate here, but...i kind of like the realism of the monsters looting the bodies and it gives the party more incentive to go after specific tribes that they have a bone to pick with. Opening a chest after defeating the orcs or dark druids that whipped your ass last week only to find the armor and magic cloak they stole from you is an even better reward than finding those items for the first time. Revenge is a dish best served cold....

but, i agree that the "raise dead" scrolls may help with the loss of XP, but remember when we get over our heads and are low on HP, food and spell components, we should be smart about making a sneaky escape back to town (i.e. a sanctuary spell, a potion of invisibility, or just straight up avoiding areas that are too densely populated by monsters.)

another town, or safe point to rest and replenish supplies could also be a good solution. haiving a caravan post, the ranger's cabin idea, or the bandit town idea that jason and I were thinking about gives the party travelling options when the trip back to caer mabon is a trip the valley of multiple headwounds and diabolical, invisible looting giants. (i still wish i was there for that one. that's the stuff legends are made of!)

to be honest i get just as frustrated when i die more than twice in 10 minutes and get everything looted and have to run back to town in a bath towel, but i also kind of like that its hard and i know that i'm in the minority, but hey its the shield lands. Caer Mabon is a settlement on the edge of the frontier. for most settlers the area we adventure in is completely uninhabitable because its overrun by monsters that want to eat their babies!

i look forward to playing in the next session either next weekend or the one after next. (this weekend would be ideal for me though, before eric returns on monday.)

I still want to know how GIANTS hid under the table in the tavern and scaled the sheer wall of the tower to the second floor without any of the TOWN GUARDS noticing. Ohh right! THERE ARE NO SOLDIERS IN THIS MILITARY OUTPOST! Additionally we had just been ambushed by an potion-drinking-invisible-barkskinned-giant while trying to make camp, so I guess that answers the question.

I bought & downloaded "Wyvern Crown of Cormyr" and played around with its resources in the toolset tonight. I have to say, that the horses look spectacular. I expected more to be added to their (magnificient) Tir Na Nog tileset. I plan on merging it with our "Rural" set, as the "Tir Na Nog" set is short on routing-type terrain. All in all, my favorite things that I've seen so far are creatures, a wyvern and a lich king that levitates about with his arms crossed.
