I love how she quickly and rightly identifies many of the current issues with TF2 (i.g.- Medics can be boring to play) without ever having played the game before.

I wonder how many failed games could have been much much better had the developers stopped half way through production and just videoed players messing around with their product?

Also --> Adorable!

i made it 1/2 way through...i want to cut her tongue out. and that game blows.

but it comes with PORTAL.

The Orange Box ---->FOR THE WIN.

Portal is a wonderful game! I'm interested to see how they end up integrating "all that Portal shit" into HL2:EP3.

HL2:EP2 was good near the end, but I've just about had it with killing wave after wave of headcrab zombies. I mean, didn't I do enough of that in HL2 + HL2:EP1? Give me more stand-up fights against stuff that shoots back, thanks!

man HL2:EP2 was hard for me. did you play them all on a 360 or a PC. do they have portal for PC?

yes "the Orange Box" is on PC Bob.

I only got to play the Orange box a little bit when I was at Chad's house.

I played El Cuadro de Naranja on my PC.

I really can't imagine playing a FPS on a console (well, one that wasn't designed specifically for console play) without mouse/keyboard control. HL2/TF2 on the 360 seems like they would be difficult to control...

i hear that all the time from PC gamers. and what i have to say to that. "my skill transcends platform"

"my skill transcends platform"

Make sure to float silently a few inches above the ground and glow with an eerie red light when you say that, you know, just to drive the point home ;-)

I picked "La Caja Naranja" up while I was in Chicago because we were having so much fun with Portal at Chad's place on the 360. I was also impressed with the beginning of HL2. Since my skill does NOT transcend platform and I am not an epic level video game crack that can levitate and get the Mortal Kombat characters to cheat and drink tea I have to agree with Alex on the game controller.

I have everything installed on my Linux supercomputer which I am proud of since the game is only supposed to run on Windoze but I get poor frame rates, particularly with Team Fortress. I am going to buy a second hard drive (since disk storage space is practically given away now) soon and build a Microsoft gaming system out of it, sort of like a personal computing X-Box. The first slew of games old and new but with high fun value, especially on the internets will be: "La Caja Naranja", Warcraft 3, Battlefield 1942, and Neverwinter Nights.

I would like to get our internet gaming sessions going again, any other elaborate time wasting solutions recommended?

I own all of the games you just listed J and I'd be down with trying out any of them. It would be fantastic to start up NWN experimenting again, but I just don't have any build time with my wedding in the wind...

I would be amicable to killing monsters this weekend or next. Just to hang out. Lemme know if there is interest in this.

(Automatic 8th level; because we'd be hanging out and not necessarily campaigning.)

I will have to see how fast I can get my "XBOX" up and running. I will let you know when my fully immersive virtual reality time wasting environment is online.

Could we try WC3 or BF1942? I think it might be fun to turn the bots all up to expert and see how long we can last against them...

Pete said...

Battlefield 1942 is great fun, but I recall that there are no bots in multiplayer; a major flaw.

WC3 = Warcraft 3? Don't own it, but I could get it.

It seems everyone owns the Orange Box but me. I'd be willing to buy it, but the only computer I have that could run it would be my work computer, which I don't mind.

I cool with whatever, just give me ample warning,..

Could we set up a private server in Warcraft 3? The version I have is . . . ahem . . . missing the codes to play on BattleNet.

What happened to Bob's post about playing GTA 14? Was he offended by Alex's ironic implication that XBOX makes people look like a Morlock since they cannot leave the house because they are so immersed in the power of VIRTUAL REALITY?

You know, I'm not sure if that's possible. I know there was a free BN server emulator back in 02, but it was throughly pillaged by Blizzard's legal department and I'm sure its functionality has been patched to ribbons by WC3's live team by now. :-(
